We have a decent sized MP3 collection. Finnaly got getting around to organizing it. No where near done, but at least I’m working on it. Which should please the forces that be. I learned about MusicBrainz this weekend. The program basically takes a sampling of an MP3, generates a checksum, checks it against the Musicbrain database and then downloads the proper ID3 tags.

Of course it is a Windows application and all of our main music collection is on a Mac Mini. After a little searching I found !EatBrainz. Seems to run fine under Mac OSX 10.4.4. There are some warnings about doing batch modifications, so I’ll just take it slow. This should save me a grip of time.

Well, maybe i’ll start updating this more often. Just installed WordPress instead of Serendipity. Wordpress 2.0 has made some great improvements since the previous version. So for now this is what we use!

The gallery software that I use on this site is great. One major caveat, UPGRADING! Well after many hours of trial and error the Picture gallery is back online. Should you someday want to subject yourself to this torture visit http://gallery.menalto.com/.
